Westside residents push for action as gunfire from state trust land endangers homes. Residents along Tucson's west side say illegal shooters on closed Arizona State Land Department trust land are firing weapons whose shells are striking homes, with one neighbor warning "Cinco de Mayo is going to be like a war zone." The ASLD closed the land to recreation in 2019, but chains and no-trespassing signs have not stopped the activity; a Pima County community meeting is scheduled for April 30 to discuss enforcement and physical barriers.
