Air support was provided during daylight hours by four single-engine air tankers; firefighters are working toward full suppression.
Man arrested in connection with deadly 2008 Tucson house party shooting. Tucson police have arrested a man in connection with a 2008 shooting at a house party that left one man dead and another paralyzed. No additional details on the suspect or charges were immediately available.
Pedestrian dies days after being struck by SUV on East 22nd Street. A 32-year-old man who was struck by an SUV while crossing East 22nd Street earlier this month has died, Tucson police confirmed Monday. The fatality follows a separate south-side crash on April 23 that killed a 48-year-old man.

Arizona House advances K-12 gun safety awareness curriculum bill; Democrats call it misguided. 44th Tucson International Mariachi Conference opens Wednesday. The Tucson International Mariachi Conference returns April 29 through May 3, drawing more than 1,300 students from local and international mariachi groups to study under master musicians. Evening events begin Wednesday, with some performances free to the public; the conference concludes with a Mariachi Mass at noon on Sunday, May 3.
Barrio Brewing earns gold medal at World Beer Cup. Tucson's Barrio Brewing Co. won a gold medal at the World Beer Cup, one of the most prestigious craft brewing competitions in the world. The win adds international recognition to one of Tucson's signature homegrown breweries.
