A man faces a first-degree murder charge after his 65-year-old mother was found dead inside their shared Vail-area home, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department. Man dies after ejection in southside rollover crash. A 27-year-old man died after being ejected from his vehicle during a single-car rollover on East Benson Highway near South Hartford Stravenue on Friday night, according to KVOA. Speed and distracted driving are listed as contributing factors.
Jack Upchurch convicted on all counts in Pima County murder case. A jury convicted Jack Upchurch on all charges in the murder of Paul Clifford, according to KOLD News 13. Sentencing is scheduled for September 28.
Downtown Tucson businesses reopen to weekend crowds following mass shooting. A slight chance of thunderstorms returns after 5 p.m. Overnight lows will hover near 81–82°F, well above average, with slight storm chances continuing into early Monday.
Monday brings another sunny and hot day, near 104°F (heat index up to 107°F), with afternoon and overnight storm chances increasing — precipitation probability reaching 40% Monday night. Tuesday and Wednesday remain mostly sunny with highs near 104–105°F and only isolated storm chances.
The prolonged above-average heat is expected to persist through at least midweek, with monsoon storm activity remaining scattered and unreliable. Residents should limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours and stay hydrated.
