⛈️ Weather — Tucson

⚠️ EXTREME HEAT WARNING — in effect now, issued 2:10 a.m. today and running until 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29. The National Weather Service in Tucson warns of dangerously hot conditions across the Tucson metro area, Western Pima County, the Tohono O'odham Nation, Pinal County and the Upper Gila River Valley, with highs of 103 to 111 and overnight lows of 79 to 85. Major HeatRisk is expected through Tuesday, with widespread Major to Extreme HeatRisk Wednesday through Saturday. Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events.

Today: mostly sunny with a high near 107, a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., heat index values up to 105, and south-southeast wind 2 to 13 mph. Tonight: partly cloudy, low around 80, with a slight chance of storms before 8 p.m. Monday: sunny, high near 104, with a slight chance of storms after 5 p.m. and a low around 81.

The outlook offers no relief — Tuesday climbs to about 108 and Wednesday to about 109 under sunny skies, with overnight lows staying in the low to mid-80s. Storm chances remain isolated at 20% or less through Monday night, so brief afternoon activity will not meaningfully break the heat. The heat warning currently runs through the end of the week.
