City prosecutor placed on leave as police look into evidence allegations. City Attorney Roi Lusk has placed City Prosecutor Matthew Walker on paid administrative leave pending an investigation into allegations of possible misconduct, the city announced Thursday. The allegations involve a probation revocation matter in a Pima County Attorney's Office case against Lane Myers earlier this year, and the city said the investigation is independent of the City Attorney's Office. Tucson police are looking into whether Walker and his wife, also an attorney, may have created evidence to make sure Myers would go to prison, KGUN reported. The Walkers say Myers harassed them. In a statement, County Attorney Laura Conover said her office alerts the defense and requests an emergency hearing when it learns of potentially exculpatory evidence, and the office said a new court date has been scheduled.

Her office replied Thursday with a link to her Nov. 4 victory speech in Phoenix. In the speech, Hobbs said that in her second term "we'll continue protecting our water from the Upper Basin states, from the federal government, and from the out-of-state corporations who want to use it for their own gain." She also promised to secure the border from cartels, crack down on "waste, fraud and abuse" in the state's ESA school voucher program while delivering $1 billion to public schools without raising taxes, "slash red tape for starter homes" and expand apprenticeships.
