What the office does
The Arizona Constitution puts a clerk of the superior court in every county, elected to a four-year term, with the powers and duties provided by law and by court rule. By statute the clerk attends each session of the court held in the county, keeps the records the law and court rules require, keeps the list of fees charged in actions and collects them, maintains and provides access to court records, and is responsible for the operations of the clerk's office, including appointing and supervising its staff and submitting its budget to the Board of Supervisors.
