Pedestrian killed on Miracle Mile; 25th pedestrian death this year. A 40-year-old man was struck and killed about 6:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, while crossing the 700 block of West Miracle Mile, police said. According to a TPD release, he was not in or near a crosswalk when he was hit by a westbound Buick SUV, and the driver was not injured and remained at the scene. Police said the death is the city's 25th pedestrian fatality this year, up from 20 at the same point in 2025.
