Border Patrol trainee and UA student face charges in Sahuarita sexual assault case. Zabdiel Echie, 24, of Sahuarita, a Border Patrol agent in training, made a first appearance in Pima County Superior Court on Sept. 2 on one count of sexual assault and one count of kidnapping and was released on a $150,000 bond, KOLD reported. Joaquin Borboa, 21, of Tucson, a University of Arizona student, appeared Thursday and was being held on a $350,000 bond. According to court documents cited by KVOA, the woman told investigators she was picked up in Tucson on June 19 and taken to Echie's Sahuarita home, where she was given alcohol and an unknown substance before blacking out.

Cienega High lockdown lifted after report of a gun on campus. The Pima County Sheriff's Department placed Cienega High School on lockdown Thursday while deputies investigated a report of a firearm on campus, which the department said was done out of an abundance of caution. Vail Unified School District said the lockdown was lifted and that the report may have been a false alarm, according to KOLD.

Household hazardous waste collection returns Sept. 12. The city's Environmental Services Department said its monthly household hazardous waste and document-shredding event resumes after a summer break from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 12, at Pima Community College East, 8181 E.
